Interactions: Ioren and Grand King Valturez Continued

Interactions between Ioren and Grand King Valturez of hell. When Valturez mentions Guardian’s he is speaking of Guardian Calantrial Extraxi, these are creatures that Valturez has his elite guards specially breeding so that they can patrol the town to prevent the abuse of the less fortunate.

These interactions are from a wonderful Roleplay between myself and Necro <3 She’s such a wonderful person and this is helping me to develop not only the Aviur Demons but also how Valturez is before the 2nd war.

Ioren belongs to NecrosisDemon while Valturez and the Aviur Demon race are my own creations.

“Yes I heard about your wife…” Ioren muttered under his breath and crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing Valturez warily. What should he do? A couple of days away from the slums was so tempting… and he’d be in the palace no less! The palace was huge from what he had seen!

But he didn’t believe that the servants and guards in there would treat him the same as everyone else, like Valturez claimed they would. What was to stop them from doing just the opposite when the King wasn’t around?

Ugh this was so difficult!

Slums are palace? Palace or slums? Squeezing his eyes shut Ioren cursed and sighed. “Fine.” he muttered. “I’ll come.” So he could make sure that Valturez was speaking the truth. If he was, then good. If he wasn’t then he could warn the others in the slums to not trust another word the guy said.

While Ioren fought over things in his mind the King was keeping his attention on those around, making sure that any words spoken were not being directed towards the demon before them. His tolerence for such things was already worn thin by them and if it persisted well… Valturez wasn’t afraid to get his hands a bit dirty to make it stop completely. It wasn’t until the Obsidian spoke again that his full attention returned to the other “There…” He let out before motioning with one hand as he turned on his feet, glancing back and nodding his head “Follow me then…”

Valturez would wait for Ioren to move before going himself, he wanted to keep his eye on the other demon to well make sure that no one decided to pelt him with things or continue with the cruel words “Once at the Palace you will stay in the throne room while I get a room set up for your stay.” The demon added in with another nod, his tail giving a twitch behind him as the guards that were with him started to make their way off back in the direction of the palace.

Hoping he hadn’t just royally fucked himself up so to speak by agreeing to this, Ioren huffed and followed after Valturez, the King’s guards surrounding them both from all sides.

Cutting off all escape if he suddenly decided to break away anyway. Gritting his teeth his ears pressed flat against his skull, clearly showing his discomfort with the situation but he remained silent. He sighed. Too late to back out now, right?

He didn’t answer as Valturez explained what would be happening once they arrived. The throne room huh? Heeee, maybe he could sneak in a sit on the throne itself, and play pretend, even if it was just for a few seconds! That’d be fun! There would probably guards though, they wouldn’t leave him alone in there.

Bah. Ah well, at least he got to see the thing.

There was mostly silence on the way back to the Palace, though stares were given as the king made his way back towards the main ‘road’ that lead up to the palace. Mostly because of the fact that he’d once again taken in someone from the Slums, it was certainly something that the people of the city didn’t agree upon and most grew annoyed that their King was doing such things. But none really stood up against the demons choices and allowed for him to do what he desired without a fuss. Afterall, no one wanted another reign like that of Adramelech… that was a history that wasn’t worth repeating.

It wasn’t until they were about halfway to the palace that the demonic king broke the silence giving a glance towards Ioren “Were you in the slums all your life?” He questioned, honest curiosity really “And how has it been there? I’m hoping it is at least improving somewhat given the efforts I am putting forth to try and help…”

Ioren noticed the stares but ignored them. He was quite adapt at ignoring what he wanted, one had to trying to surviving the slums. He kept his eyes on the road ahead of him, keeping careful track of where he put his hooves down so he wouldn’t slip. They had already seen his single horn, they didn’t need even more proof that there were things wrong with him.

He pulled the cloak closer around him, tightening his grip on the bread he still had as he risked a glance up and stared at the large palace, but within seconds his eyes were on the ground again and he shrugged, though Valturez couldn’t see that. “I was born there.” Just him and his mom. He had never known his dad, and his mom had died a few years back. Fortunately he already had enough skills to survive on his own.

He looked up again and stared at Val’s back, a smirk playing on his lips. “And there has been no change as far as I could tell. Looks like you’re not trying hard enough.”

Well that earned a snort from Valturez… his attention turning back over his shoulder as he gave the other a glance “Are you purposely trying to get under my skin?” He let out a deep frown forming over his features as he sighed out deeply his tail giving another twitch in the process “Because what you are doing is certainly not having the effects that you are likely desiring…” He added in before returning his attention forward, the demon had grown a high tolerance for a lot of things… so it was certainly difficult to get a rise out of him.

There was more silence to follow after that as he came up towards the main stairs of the palace walking up to the main doors and shoving them open and stepping inside the main hallway pausing to wait for Ioren as he gave a glance back “Come on then, lets get you set up… and maybe give you something more comfortable to wear.” He paused before motioning to the bread “And something better to eat.”

His smirk didn’t widen but didn’t disappear either. “No, I am just stating the truth. You asked.” No he wasn’t exactly trying… he had always been like this, saying what he wanted when he wanted. He knew what the King did when he was mad… he had witnessed so himself just a few minutes ago! Not exactly someone he wanted to get on their bad side with.

He stayed silent as he followed Valturez up the stairs and through the doors, gaping at the grand scene all around him, eyes wide. This place was gorgeous! Of course every place was gorgeous compared to the slums but this… wow.

He tugged on his cloak and nodded as he looked around. New clothes would be nice… as would a meal… but what he really wanted the most was a bath. The slums weren’t exactly clean. He wasn’t going to ask for it though.

“Yes well you are reminding me of several people I’d rather not remember…” He muttered out with a bit of a cold tone in his voice sighing out deeply as he continued down the hallway his hands slipping up to fold in front of his chest as he walked. A deep silence falling over him as he made his way to the throne room “Stay here and don’t wander…” He stated before moving off to the side “And don’t open any damn doors either…” Though really, Valturez had his doubts that Ioren would listen… and well most anyone who was told not to do something would often do it anyway regardless. He just hoped the Demon wasn’t stupid enough to actually go about opening doors that were well… not meant to be open.

Ioren frowned at him. Geez, what was with the sudden mood swing? Did the Kind suffer from male PMS or something? He snorted, chuckling to himself and shook his head. Bah. Not his problem. As long as it wasn’t taken out on him, Val could be as bipolar as he wanted to be.

Once they entered the throne room his eyes immediately wandered over to the throne itself, and whistled. Oooooh yes he was totally going to sit on that thing, one way or another!

“I won’t wander~” Or open any doors. He stayed in his spot, hands clasped behind his back, obediently waiting until Valturez left the room. The moment he did, Ioren ran towards the throne, hooves almost slipping over the floor and, ignoring the guards stationed near the doors, hopped into the seat. Whooo! Comfy!

With Valturez gone the Guards were maintaining their positions though seeing Ioren immediately heading to the throne and sitting well… that earned a response. One of them moving over and giving a motion “Off the throne…” the creature let out shaking it’s head “Other’s might get the wrong idea if you stay on it for too long… the King has already been attacked more than once for his rank… and we don’t want you being hurt.” He added in before taking a step back and looking to the other guard who was standing in front of the door nearby… “The king might think you are challenging him if you stay on it…”

Ioren tensed up immediately when one of the guards approached, his fingers digging into the armrests as his ears flattened and his eyes narrowed, his body ready to run. Fortunately all it did was speak to him, but he didn’t allow himself to relax just yet.

“Pfft. Me? Challenging him for the throne?” Seriously, was the guard dumb? Ioren reached up and tapped his horn. “Who in his right mind would take a challenge from me seriously? Like I would stand a chance even if I wanted to try.” He shrugged and leaned back against the cushions.

“Let me have my fun, man… it won’t last long anyway.”

“The king won’t do anything but others might see it as an offense that is punishable by death. Most in here follow the King’s will but there are still some who go against it regardless of what is said by him.” It let out with a low sigh before shifting slightly keeping it’s attention on Ioren before looking back over it’s shoulder an ear flicking up “Valturez is more kind in regards to those he has shown care for, so you would be well to at least show him some respect in that regard.” It’s attention returned to Ioren as it sighed again before moving back to it’s position next to the throne.

“He did save your life… there have been many times where the King hasn’t been as successful with his visits. And in those cases he has felt great sorrow and grief, even though he knows that he cannot save everyone…”
