We’ve seen many Noxia up to this point but you’ve never really gotten a glimpse of the one that ‘started’ the species so to say. Ashendale has been mentioned a few times in the past but details about him have been scarce because for the fact that Ashendale and Ailith are both sealed away in their domain. You never see them unless you are one of those unfortunate souls that are sent to one or the other as punishment or as a means of procreating the species.
Now, Aliah is massive. Likely a couple hundred feet in length… Ashendale makes any of the Noxia look like worms compared to him. He’s huge, beyond huge even… I don’t think there’s a word to describe his size… though you could likely use Behemoth, Leviathan and even Gargantuan for it and you might get close. Ashendale is pure insanity at it’s finest, and while he does have his moments where he has some other emotions that’s generally how he always is. Ashendale consumes his own offspring, he consumes anything and everything that comes into the sealed cavern that he dwells in.
This is because Ashendale has to constantly eat to produce eggs and to produce the necessary genetics to use for making better and more advanced children. Ashendale is the only Noxia (Besides his mate Ailith) that can produce eggs as well as semen so he can not only lay eggs but he can also knock up any females he happens to get in his grasp.
As far as appearances go… Ashendale has a total of 9 Jaws, the main one of his face, two upper jaws that splay out at the upper portion of his mouth and the two lower jaws that also splay out. Because he was the Noxia that was embedded in Valturez’s body he shares many traits with the Grand King, such as the large horns and flames that run down the length of his neck.
To put it simple, you don’t ever want to meet Ashendale face to face… ever…
Roleplayers Tips, Tricks and Hints
For the avid Roleplayers out there, you might like this.
Something had caught his attention… out of the corner of his eye movement had been seen and the large creature slowly stirred from his rested state high up upon the caverns walls. Slowly melding his shape back into one solid form Aliah slowly drifted his way down to the bottom of their domain landing down beside the strange sleek black creature that was walking there.
A brief moment of silence was followed before an exchange in greeting was made. Aliah taking a place beside the Lock as they moved to walk “You seem to be a curious creature… perhaps I can enlighten you as to what we are…”

Just a bit of a random, spur of the moment drawing while I try and kick an art block to the curve. Simple sketches like this seem to help.
Aliah is one of the eldest (Given his heritage) of the Noxia as explained on This Image. I pictured him being the type to just float around and greet anything that happens to come into their domain, and if they seemed interesting he would share information on what the Noxia are. So Aryian happened to catch Aliah’s eye and the Noxia came down to walk and speak with the Lock for a short time.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh be very quiet, we have some lazy nappers here
I wanted to draw something squiggly and something cute in a way and this sprang out onto the paper. And loafing nap time seemed to come from it. Aryian being a loaf and laying on a random Noxia who doesn’t seem to mind nor care.
The Noxia generally don’t sleep, or at the very least they do not sleep completely in the sense that they are completely ‘zonked out’ when they do. They basically have their senses still on high alert because of the fact that the Noxia are a very violent and very territorial race and if something is bigger than you in their domain chances are that bigger something is going to want to eat you. So you have to sleep with that one eye and one ear at attention and at all times.
When Noxia sleep they will often times spring themselves up and hang from the walls of their caverns (Which have that thick sludge like tar coating them) draping down like giant hammocks made out of their bodies and then they wrap whatever is left of themselves around the main support that is draping down and then laying their heads on top of the mass of their body.
I would think Noxia make a rather comfortable bed when you can get a hold of one to lay with. Because they are very squishy and pliable due to their bodies. If you want an idea for how they work you can think of them like water balloons and such, where you and press them and smoosh them but so long as you don’t put too much pressure to it they won’t break. The noxia have a very silky feel to their ‘skin’, it is also very smooth to the touch. Noxia’s are generally very neutral in temperature to the touch but within their chambers they are extremely hot to the touch to the point where they can cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns from just being touched, this is due to where they live. If they are located anywhere else their temperatures are generally mild or in some cases cold, this is generally because they have no means of regulating their bodies internal and external temperatures.

So I’m pushing out of my Dragon Block and working on a few things to warm myself up for the final Commission I have left to do. Though this turned out to be a bit of a project in and of itself. Anyway, to explain I was sitting at the computer milling around due to the information I received from my Case Worker at SRS.
While I was milling I went about thinking of the Noxia and such, perhaps trying to peg out Aliah again since he seems to be the most social of the group that I know of. The thing is, when you are wandering about in your headworld you are sometimes met with Surprises. Cadmus here is one such surprise. Believe it or not, Cadmus IS a Noxia albeit a different style of Noxia all together. He’s an easy going, relaxed version of the species in the sense that he has accomplished what his species generally sets out to do. And that is to become ‘whole’ so to say.
Now, I’m not sure how these fellow managed to obtain this status but I doubt it was easy. I know of only a few Noxia that have ever achieved a state like this, and those two that I do know are Ashendale and Ailith. For a Noxia to become ‘whole’ they require obtaining a host and living in it for a set amount of time (likely hundreds if not thousands of years) and then they must break free of this host in a specific manner. What this manner is, I cannot say. None of the Noxia have opened up to me about such ways and Cadmus here is secretive about the course that he took to obtain his appearance.
Cadmus takes on several interesting features needless to say because of this, he holds fins that are a part of his body. These fins are in a style akin to the Lionfish on earth, whether or not Cadmus was IN the mortal plane remains a question that has not yet been answered. He also sports a very heavy, and very thick armored coat of scales and his mane itself is shorter and less flowing than other Noxia. He also bears a set of several horns on his head and spines growing out his body in different parts such as his neck and back.
I didn’t draw a full body of him because he is QUITE massive in terms of the Noxia, he’s nowhere near as LARGE as Aliah but he is certainly up there. And drawing a very heavily detailed thing like Cadmus with all his fins and scales would be a challenge from hell itself haha
Some more flat colors since for some odd reason I cannot seem to be capable of drawing anything right now. BLEH I hate when that happens. Anyway, one thing about the Noxia is that they are in essence coming in colors like horses. Thus when I saw This Gorgeous Thing it was instant “That’s Canicus right there.”
Though the colors are only on the surface and on the inside he is still a dark gray/deep black coloration since in essence he is still made of tar like gunk either way. He’s pretty and likes his shiny brown coloration. And I really think it suits his personality, Canicus has a sort of Elegance to him that is much like Aliah and Busiris. And these colors seem to reflect that with him.
I think Canicus seems to enjoy Aryian’s company, perhaps it’s because he can openly talk to the lock and just lay there and be a giant lazy bum with him

Cancius and the Noxia are my own
Very rough, loose coloring for this sketch. I’m actually working on collaborating with ~DiceKitty who is going to be shading this image and making things extra shiny and sleek, like she did with a few icons that she shaded for a friend of min >3> I looooooooooove da shiny! Fffffffffffffffffffff *coughs* Anyway…
I couldn’t for the LIFE of me get that Blue Roan speckling like I wanted to, for some odd reason whenever I tried to it turned out rather BLEH >3< I might go back and touch this up a bit later when I can. And try to get the essence in colors for Rajan done, overall I am a bit pleased with how I got the basic layout coloring for him done. That very nice blue-ish gray mixed with the darker grays and light blues.
If only I could get him back out to show his face again so I can color it T_T He’s been hiding from me…

So, sitting down and thinking about things to draw I once again fall into that world inside my mind. I was hoping to see Aliah again seeing as he’s one of the more docile of the Noxia but he didn’t seem to want to come out today. Possibly because he was having an off day and didn’t want to be pestered. So I went through trying to think of different ways that the Noxia would mutate if they were born in different ways.
Thus, Busiris came into existence. Busiris is different from normal Noxia in the sense that he has a very large throat pouch that expands and deflates. Think of it something akin to a frogs throat pouch or the Friggit Bird’s big red pouch and if you know of them the Greater Prairie Chickens. This pouch is used to make all manners of vocalizations from hums, purrs and rumbles to heavy drumming sounds and whooping sounds. You could say that Busiris is almost like a Mocking Bird seeing as he can copy many different vocalizations if he hears them.
Busiris is on par with Aliah in terms of size, though he is a hair smaller than Aliah. He’s also along the lines of one of the more aggressive of the Noxia given that he will attack just about anything that approaches him without reason. He also seems to have a habit of letting his body melt apart all the time and loves laying on himself and folding himself into a giant tar ball of goop. Which is actually a very common thing for the Noxia, it’s a display of relaxation and also a display of having fun and enjoying ones self. The noxia in most cases take a lot of fun and pride in folding up, deflating and otherwise deforming their tar like bodies into odd shapes as a way of entertaining themselves. After all, they have nothing better to do.
Meet Aliah, the only known offspring to be born between Ashendale and Ailith whom are the first known Noxia in existence. Aliah was actually very cooperative in terms of coaxing him out and being capable of drawing him, and is much like Canicus in terms of temperment though not too much like the other. Aliah can and will be aggressive when he desires, he will be an utter asshole as well but it’s mostly only when the time requires him to be so. Other than that he’s a very tolerant beastie who will sit there and pose for you for long hours of the day just because he can and his life is otherwise boring.
Aliah is one of the largest Noxia known in existence thus far, this is likely due to his parents and being a ‘2nd generation’ of the species. He can condense himself into a smaller form and rarely, if ever, takes on his true size that is displayed here (That little black squiggly there is a smaller Noxia). Like Ashendale, Aliah will consume his own kind… if they are smaller than him and he can catch them they will go in his mouth. Overall he is what you could consider a standard Noxia in appearance, he is a mottled black and white pallet much like Ailith has and has a rather placid if not mild temper. One thing I do notice about him is that he seems to have a longer neck than other Noxia have and his legs are actually a lot longer than normal. Likely because he is what is deemed a ‘2nd generation’ and he has not had the genetics of evolution passed down to him that others of the species have had.
It’s possible that Aliah because he is the only born son of Ailith and Ashendale before they were separated into the quarters of the Dungeons that the Noxia live in. Ashendale and Ailith still produce offspring, but this is through A-sexual bodily functions and through constantly eating and feasting on the things they are given.
Last one of these for awhile, haha I have other things to do but it was fun these past few days actually drawing and getting a feel for the Noxia. Anyway, Rajanikant is now officially gone and hiding… apparently he didn’t want to come out for anymore mingling. I ended up finding another Noxia however and this guy is interesting. Named Canicus, he’s an older member of the species and he’s also quite proud and confident in himself. It took me awhile to get anything out of him given his rather silent ways but I managed to get information out of him.
Canicus is a rariety in the species, given the fact that he has actual permanent damage to his form. The Noxia in general rarely sustain any permanent damages to themselves given how they are made up of that sludge like essence. Any permanent damages done to them can only be obtained from Ashendale or Ailith, who are in general the ‘firsts’ of the species. General wounds given by others of the species heal and mend because of how they are made, wounds given to them by Ashendale or Ailith are permanent because these two can actually kill their own. Ashendale himself often consumes his offspring if they enter his chamber, and he likely would have consumed Canicus is he didn’t get the hell out of there to begin with.
Canicus’s wounds are various, the major damage being on his face where he has a large chunk of bone matter missing as well as half the bone of his bottom jaw gone. He has large rips from his neck and front body, and is missing half his front limb. He is also missing most of his hind legs as well. He has a REASON to be the way he is, after all, living through an attack by Ashendale means you are big and capable of handling your own and anything that comes near you will know that you can take them on.
Cancius is more placid, he’s large (Larger than Rajanikant but smaller than others of the species) and will often times just sit and speak with those who come near him. He’s not like most of the others who are hell bent on getting a host and is more into the thought process that “This is what I am, if I get a host fine if I don’t fine.” and he’s content on just lounging in the dungeons in a big goopy mess as well, mostly because most of the others within the dungeons know better than to mess with him.
No idea what he’s doing here with Aryian oxo it just kinda sprang to life. Perhaps he’s just sitting there and talking to the Lockjaw about what he is… who knows…
